Every year HotelTechReport reviews dozens of hotel technology companies for our quarterly innovation report.
Of course, every company had an AI pitch.
The ones that stand out can actually prove the AI is working.
Every year at HITEC, we meet with founders, product leaders, and executives from across the hotel technology ecosystem to create our HITEC Q2 Innovation Report.
Every company has a vision.
Every company has a roadmap.
Every company has a demo.
But demos don't tell you whether an innovation changes hotel operations.
Operators do.
That's why we use a simple rule when building these reports:
We read the reviews before we listen to the pitch.
If we can't find recent, public feedback from real hoteliers showing measurable impact, we toss out the innovation because real operators aren’t raving about it.
That filter changes everything.
Instead of asking, "Which products have the most impressive AI?"
We ask, "Which products are actually changing how hotels operate?"
After reviewing this quarter's submissions, one pattern emerged across nearly every category.
The biggest innovations are no longer just delivering insights.
They're taking action.
Four examples stood out.
Duetto's Automated Date Boost automatically shifts marketing spend toward the dates that need occupancy most. The system doesn't just identify demand gaps. It responds to them.
Canary's Agentic Sales Coordinator engages group and event inquiries before a salesperson gets involved. Leads that previously sat overnight now move toward booking immediately. Check it out
Lighthouse Ernest: AI Co-Pilot that constantly monitors the market, pushes rate changes, launches campaigns, and generates reports. All inside the guardrails you set. Check it out
HIA's Native AI Agent executes recurring accounting workflows directly inside the accounting system. Controllers maintain oversight, but routine work gets completed automatically.
Different categories.
Different teams.
Same pattern.
For years, software helped hotel teams make better decisions.
The next generation of products is increasingly handling the routine work behind those decisions.
That is the most important shift happening in hotel technology right now.
If you're evaluating AI vendors this year, I'd encourage you to look beyond dashboards, copilots, and recommendations.
Ask one question: What work disappears if I implement this product?
The companies creating the most value are starting to have a very clear answer.

I'd love to hear what innovations you're seeing in the market that are genuinely changing how hotels operate. Reply to this email and share anything you think I missed.
